This artwork has several layers. The satellite reflector plate is layered with African fabric, found whiskey bottles, rusted wire layered with rusted un-engraved ID bracelets, layered with rubber strips. Such are the scars of the triangular slave trade, layer upon layers of injustices carried forward to today. Poor self esteem, drug and alcohol problems, genetic and dietary health issues, mental illness, financial disparity are just a few of many layers of scars affecting much of the African ancestral American community.
