According to a 2009 article in the U.K.'s, The Guardian, as many as 78,000 children aged 5 years to 14 years old are forced to pick tobacco on plantations in Malawi, Africa. The children absorb nicotine through their skin equivalent to smoking 50 cigarettes per day and are suffering from severe health problems.
