This painting represents the end of my first year of painting. I took a six day workshop, Tougaloo Art Colony, Tougaloo College, Jackson, MS from Jerri Glasper, a remarkable landscape artist. This was my first and only class in painting and Jerri taught me more in a few days than I could ever have imagined.
I went to the class thinking, I don't want to paint landscapes and I don't want to paint from pictures, but Jerri taught me how to see and how to add the tool of painting to a never ending artist tool kit.
